“2022 Energy Taiwan” takes place from October 19 to 21 at Hall 1 of Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. Taiwan’s only local offshore wind development team, Taiya Renewable Energy (TRE), participates in the event for the first time, setting up a booth at K0531. With the theme of “Do Good,” Taiya invests resources in three major aspects of community, education, and industry, and takes concrete actions to give back to local construction, carry out local talent incubation, and support local industry transformation, fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.
“This year (2022), Taiya participates in the Wind Taiwan exhibition for the first time. As a local Taiwanese development team, Taiya also proactively responds to local issues while engaging in wind farm development,” said Richard Liu, GM of Taiya. “For this exhibition, Taiya adopts the theme of ‘Do Good,’ and takes concrete actions to showcase the company’s philosophy of sustainability and local co-prosperity in the offshore wind industry.”
Giving Back to Local Construction and Realizing Community Common Good
Taiya has long been concerned with the development of local community and has participated in the local cultural and art event, the Fishing Boat Light Festival, in Wanggong, Fangyuan Township, Changhua County and the streetlight donation project, hoping to achieve co-prosperity with the local community. In the future, Taiya will also adhere to the spirit of “Do Good” and proactively participate in local construction, cultural and art activities, and community empowerment, fulfilling the role of local developer to invest corresponding resources and foster local development.
Investing in Local Talent Incubation for Common Good of Education
Taiya highly regards incubation of professional offshore wind talents. In addition to continued signing of MOUs with domestic colleges and universities and planning of industry-academia cooperation projects, Taiya has also announced that it will launch an internship program, hoping to incubate new local blood for Taiwan’s offshore wind industry by offering internship opportunities in the various stages of offshore wind development, from wind farm development, planning and design, engineering and construction, to O&M.
Supporting Local Fishery Transformation for Common Good of Industries
With the philosophy of symbiosis for marine industries, Taiya supports the transformation and upgrade of local fishery in Taiwan, and simultaneously monitors coastal aquacultural environment and offers related job opportunities, nurturing transformation of fishery for fishermen to participate in wind power development projects, in aim to support sustainable development of fishery and circular organic resources of aquaculture.
Currently, Taiya is engaged in five wind farm development projects in Changhua,[1] Miaoli, and Penghu, with a total capacity of 4GW. The wind farms are projected to generate a combined 11.7 billion kWh a year, offering clean renewable energy equivalent to a year’s consumption of 4.2 million households.
